Our local Arc is first and foremost an advocacy organization. Employees and volunteers represent our constituency at intellectual and developmental service meetings throughout the year. We also advocate 1 on 1 for individuals and their families upon request.

REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE SERVICE
The Arc, Susquehanna Valley is now offering a Representative Payee Service to individuals that are receiving social security benefits from the SSA and need help managing their financial resources. Dependent on an individuals’ needs, the Arc works with the individual and his or her circle of support to develop an approach agreeable to all of the parties. The focus is to establish a budget to meet the individuals’ monthly needs for food, clothing, and shelter, as well as to look at their hopes, wishes, and desires for future expenditures. To be eligible to receive our Representative Payee services, the individual must be receiving services from Northumberland County BH/IDS or the CMSU and have a regular Supports Coordinator.
