The Arc, Susquehanna Valley

We are excited to announce that we are now fully moved into our new location at 15 S. 5th Street in Sunbury.  We will be using office space at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sunbury.  There are several entrances to our new office.  You may enter the building at the Court Street entrance, which is in the rear of Zion Lutheran Church (Court Street runs parallel to Market Street), come down 4 steps, turn right and you are right in front of our office (Room 104). Or you can use the elevator that is located on the 5th Street side of the church.  The elevator will be able to be used from 9am to 2pm daily, and during our Tuesay night AMPES meetings.  Our new location is handicap accessible, and has handicap accessible restrooms. 

In addition, we now have windows in our office!!!   We feel this new facility will be a perfect fit for The Arc. 

As a reminder, Sunbury AMPES meetings are now held at our new location at Zion Lutheran Church in Sunbury.  If you are unsure of the directions on how to get to our site, please call our office at 286-1008. 

What We Do

Our local Arc is first and foremost an advocacy organization.  Employees and volunteers represent our constituency at intellectual and developmental service meetings throughout the year.  We also advocate 1 on 1 for individuals and their families upon request.

The Arc offers an evening drop in program called AMPES which meets weekly in Milton, Sunbury, Shamokin, Bloomsburg, Middleburg and Berwick.

We also provide many other social and community activities throughout the year through our Social Recreational Program including bowling, Secret Pal Club and bus trips.

A volunteer Board of Directors governs The Arc.  Funding comes from memberships, government contracts, United Way funds, fund raising events, and gifts from foundations.
